Woothemes announced a few days ago that they would be joining forces with Automattic. Both companies contribute to WordPress and its community as a whole. I am excited for this transition for a number of reasons:

• We love WordPress. All of our sites are built on it.
• We use Woothemes Canvas as a responsive framework for all of our website projects, especially our All in One site plan.

I suspect that Woothemes, Woocommerce, and namely Canvas, will be even more WordPress standards compliant! We use Canvas because it is built extremely well. The code is semantic, pluggable, hookable, overrideable, etc so that we can apply any design we want. With Automattic support, I suspect and hope that this will improve even further.

We are looking forward to the transition between these two great companies. WordPress would not be where it is today without them! Congrats to both!
